Testimonials
I met Susan in 2013 and she came across as a passionate individual with endless energy, enthusiasm and the drive to make things happen for others, no matter what walk of life they came from. I asked her to join the Powerhouse, a Swiss network for like minded women who wanted to advance gender equality. Her approach and commitment meant that we asked her to join the Board not long after. One of the best decisions we made… Her ideas and energy gave the Board a renewed enthusiasm for the work we were doing and we achieved some good things for the next 7 years. Working with Susan taught me a lot and it was a privilege getting to know her professionally and personally. While the Powerhouse “closed its doors” in 2019, Susan’s legacy as part of this team goes on.
I’ve had the privilege of working with Susan on two creative endeavors: Invictus, her online journal inviting writers and artists to explore the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, and The Woolf, a respected online literary and art journal. What has struck me most about working with Susan is her ability to call on her creativity, sense of compassion and innate positivity while getting things done at a very high standard. And she always manages to keep the focus on finding a solution when challenges do arise. I count these two projects as some of the most gratifying and professionally led I have ever worked on, and I believe that is because of Susan.
Susan was a co-board member of The Woolf, an all-women non-profit organisation focused on promoting literature. She was an energetic influence, maintaining the highest standards, immensely creative in her output, supportive of others and encouraging towards other women in the literary field. In addition to a regular literary magazine, we ran workshops and held networking events for fellow writers. Her technical ability, managerial skills and financial acumen were flawless, but her championing of her fellow women in the creative arts was outstanding. Working with Susan was an uplifting and wholly beneficial experience for all of us.
I have a great deal of respect for good leaders. A recommendation of Susan Platt is so obviously simple yet hard to encapsulate. As a business leader, she is not only a unique and powerful facilitator, but also an ally measuring common value with excellent strategic thinking.
It is so very rare to find a valuable business person with such a diverse range of skills that balance holistic business operational, financial and technology perspectives. In my experience, Susan not only makes good decisions but decisions that lead people and firms to perpetuate positive growth. She has not only helped FLYERBEE’s foundation process but driven others’ successes by consulting start-ups in communications and hiring.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Susan for any role in a leadership position.
Susan joined the Stiftung für das Tier im Recht (TIR i.e. Foundation for the Animal in the Law) in its early years and was in charge of handling a variety of matters, including translating complex legal papers and coordinating fundraising activities as well as various PR work, including writing and editing for press releases and web content management. In the course of the years that we worked together, I have gotten to know her as a diligent, kind and highly energetic one-woman powerhouse, capable of handling a multitude of tasks at the same time with a smile on her face.
In the decade Susan spent with KITAG, she was tasked with and responsible for the management of a variety of large projects and undertakings, including premieres with international talent and marketing campaigns. Most notably, she was in charge of developing and implementing the launch of Switzerland’s first-ever movie voucher “Ciné-Card” in close co-operation with the management back in 1996. Not only did she deliver the finished project on time and on budget, but she went on to manage its further development, including special editions and a loyalty program, which helped secure a large sponsorship deal with a Swiss bank. In all her endeavors, I knew Susan to be an extremely reliable, diligent and solution-oriented problem solver, who would get whatever challenge came her way, done.
I worked closely with Susan within a dynamic start-up environment. Susan was a tremendous asset to our organization and clearly the ‘safety net’ that we needed to ensure nothing fell through the cracks. I very much appreciated her work ethic and dedication, as well as her intelligence and business acumen.
